वृक्कों गुर्दों में पथरी होने का प्रारंभ में रोगी को कुछ पता नहीं चलता है, लेकिन जब वृक्कों से निकलकर पथरी मूत्रनली में पहुंच जाती है तो तीव्र शूल की उत्पत्ति करती है। पथरी के कारण तीव्र शूल से रोगी तड़प उठता है। उत्पत्ति : भोजन में कैल्शियम, फोस्फोरस और ऑक्जालिकल अम्ल की मात्रा अधिक होती है तो पथरी का निर्माण होने लगता है। उक्त तत्त्वों के सूक्ष्म कण मूत्र के साथ निकल नहीं पाते और वृक्कों में एकत्र होकर पथरी की उत्पत्ति करते हैं। सूक्ष्म कणों से मिलकर बनी पथरी वृक्कों में तीव्र शूल की उत्पत्ति करती है। कैल्शियम, फोस्फेट, कोर्बोलिक युक्त खाद्य पदार्थों के अधिक सेवन से पथरी का अधिक निर्माण होता है। लक्षण : पथरी के कारण मूत्र का अवरोध होने से शूल की उत्पत्ति होती है। मूत्र रुक-रुक कर आता है और पथरी के अधिक विकसित होने पर मूत्र पूरी तरह रुक जाता है। पथरी होने पर मूत्र के साथ रक्त भी निकल आता है। रोगी को हर समय ऐसा अनुभव होता है कि अभी मूत्र आ रहा है। मूत्र त्याग की इच्छा बनी रहती है। पथरी के कारण रोगी के हाथ-पांवों में शोध के लक्षण दिखाई देते हैं। मूत्र करते समय पीड़ा होती है। कभी-कभी ...

For many years I worked in palliative care. My patients were those who had gone  home to  die. Some incredibly special times were shared. I was with them for the last three to twelve weeks of their lives. People grow a lot when they are faced with their own  mortality . I learnt never to underestimate someone’s capacity for growth. Some changes were phenomenal. बकरीद के अवसर पर वेद में अज के २ अर्थ हैं-बकरा तथा भगवान्। ४ प्रकार के पुरुषों में इसे अव्यय पुरुष कहा गया है-अजोऽपि सन् अव्ययात्मा। इसी प्रकार कुरान में भी बकर के २ अर्थ हैं- भगवान् या कोई चौपाया। कुरान के आरम्भ में सबसे बड़ा अध्याय अल-बकरा है। स्पष्टतः कुरान बकरे की पूजा या प्रशंसा के लिये नहीं है, इसका अर्थ भगवान् का वर्णन है। अतः बकरीद का अर्थ बकर या भगवान् की पूजा है (बकर= भगवान्, ईद = पूजा)। पर धर्मशास्त्र या कानून की पुस्तकों का लोग वही अर्थ करते हैं जो उनकी इच्छा के अनुसार हो। अपराधी भी अपने बचने के लिये कानून की वैसी ही व्याख्या करता है। जिनको मांस खाने की इच्छा है, वे वेद या कुरान की वैसी ही व्याख्या करते हैं। महाभारत, शान्ति पर्व, अध्याय ३३७ में कहानी है कि कुछ लोग यज्ञ में पशु बलि दे कर उनका मांस खाना चाहते थे, जिसका कुछ ऋषियों ने विरोध किया। उस समय राजा उपरिचर वसु (मगध के राजा जरासन्ध के पूर्वज) अपने विमान से गुजर रहे थे। उनको निर्णय देने की प्रार्थना हुयी। उन्होंने कुछ लोगों को प्रसन्न करने के लिये लिये अज की व्याख्या यज्ञ का बीज करने के बदले में उसे बकरा कह कर उसकी बलि...

The Level of Devotion in NAVRATRI The nature of devotion is largely feminine. You may be a man, but if you become a devotee you begin to feel like a woman in your emotion. Devotion is a crazy thing. Devotion is that which is devoid of you. It is not a love affair. Love itself is a crazy thing but there are shreds of sanity attached to it; you can still recover. भारतीय संस्कृति इस धरती पर सबसे जटिल और रंगबिरंगी संस्कृति है। अगर आप गौर से देखें, तो पाएंगे कि हर पचास से सौ किलोमीटर पर लोगों के जीने का तरीका ही बदल जाता है। एक स्थान ऐसा है जहां इस जटिल संस्कृति को आप वाकई बहुत करीब से देख सकते हैं, वह है – कुंभ मेला। मैं वहां रात के दो बजे पहुंचा और दुनिया के एक सबसे अद्भुत दृश्य को देखा। मैंने देखा कि वहां देश के अलग-अलग भागों से आए नाना प्रकार के लोग चारों तरफ बैठे थे। उनके पास सोने की कोई जगह नहीं थी इसलिए वे अलग-अलग जगहों पर आग जलाकर उसके चारों ओर बिखरे, अपनी भाषा व बोली में अपनी-अपनी संस्कृति और परंपरा के गीत गाते नाच रहे थे। मानव जाति के सबसे अधम इंसान से लेकर उत्तम इंसान, सभी वहां मौजूद थे। हजारों साल से लोग इसी तरह यहां जमा होते आ रहे हैं। इसका एक अपना सामाजिक आधार होने के साथ-साथ विशेष आध्यात्मिक शक्ति भी है। पृथ्वी और चंद्रमा अपने कालचक्रों में घूमते रहते हैं जिसका असर हर इंसान पर भी पड़ता है। लेकिन ये कालचक्र, जीवन के एक च्रक से दूसरे च्रक की यात्रा के दौरान या तो आपके लिए बंधन साबित हो सकते हैं या फिर अपनी सीमाओं के पार जाने...

Rajas – A Process of Liberation Among the three celestial objects with which the very making of our bodies is very deeply connected –  the Earth ,  the Sun , and  the Moon – Mother Earth is considered  tamas . The Sun is rajas. The Moon is sattva. Tamas is the nature of the Earth and of your birth. The moment you come out, you start activity – rajas begins. Once rajas comes, you want to do something. Once you start doing something, if there is no awareness and consciousness, the nature of rajas is such, it’s good as long as the going is good. When the going gets bad, rajas is going to be super-bad. A rajasic person has a tremendous amount of energy. It is just that it has to be channelised properly. Every action that you perform can be either a process of liberation or entanglment. If you perform any activity with  absolute willingness , that activity is beautiful and creates joy for you. Soundarya Lahari The Soundarya Lahari, composed by Adi Shankaracharya, is considered one of the most exquisite compositions in Sanskrit, which extols the beauty, power and grace of Devi. Soundarya Lahari literally means Wave of Beauty, and consists of two parts – Ananda Lahari or Wave of Bliss, which consists of the first 41 shlokas, and Soundarya Lahari, which consists of the remaining shlokas.
